UIC AI Lab Technical Report Series:
UIC-AIL-TR01.ps
- Computational modeling of biological motifs using local search based
alignment techniques; specific application to transcription factor
modeling. Software is available.
UIC-AIL-TR02.ps
- Biological tree motifs. Probabilistic trees are investigated for their
ability to model biological motifs. Software is available.
UIC-AIL-TR03.ps
- An Application of Bagging for Reducing Run-Time Complexity.
Problems which use algorithms of high complexity and have large amounts
of data suffer from excessive run-times. Frequently, such problems may
be un-computable all together. This paper describes a novel application
of bagging which allows one to solve such problems in a greatly reduced
amount of time while retaining an accurate (and frequently better)
solution. Software is available.
UIC-AIL-TR04.ps
- Ensembles of Latent Semantic Classifiers. Bagging is a popular
ensemble learning method which has its roots in statistics. Its
application for solving complex problems with large data sizes is
described in UIC-AIL-TR03.
Here, that method is applied to training latent semantic classifiers to
achieve tremendous savings in run-time and memory usage. Software is
available.
- UIC-AIL-TR05.ps
- A Framework for Sequential Planning in Multiagent
Settings. A novel framework for optimal sequential decision-making in
multiagents settings is introduced. Properties, and preliminary results
using the multiagent tiger game are also presented in the report.
